Former Facebook privacy chief is one of three Democrats on the June 8 primary for California Attorney General.
Given his background, that makes perfect sense : nothing that happens in California stays in California.

Violent crime is down sharply in the U.S. from last year.

According to federal statistics, violent crime fell significantly last year in cities across the U.S. despite the recession.
Or if you are a cynical, you will said that because of the recession, criminals have recognized that potential victims are no better off and that maybe only their dignity is keeping them from becoming criminals themselves.

Sarah Ferguson is to make public appearance in New York despite scandal.

Just a couple of days after the revelation of her embarassing money shack-down scandal, Sarah Ferguson has no trouble being in the spotlight, keeping up with her busy schedule.
On Wednesday, she was at a book convention in New York where a cocktail reception was held in her honnor in regard to her children books.
Yeah kids! You could not have asked for a better role model.

A Sunday London tabloid is reporting that Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York was caught in a set-up by the paper, trying to sell access to the highest bidder, access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
Hey, you have to give it to Sarah. What else is the British monarchy good for?

A California judge issues an arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan.

In California, a judge issued an arrest warrant for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan after she failed to show up at a mandatory court hearing as part of a progress report on her 2007 probation.
To her defense, her attorney said that the actress missed the appointment because her passport got stolen while she is in France attending the Cannes film festival.
What's wrong with these judges on these celebrities cases? Why do they insist on being on the spotlight by keeping these party-hardy celebrities on endless probation?

White House party crashers showed-up again uninvited at second White House state dinner.

Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the famous party crasher couple that got into the White House first state dinner uni uninvited, showed-up again yesterday at the second White House state dinner. This time, they were spotted and turned away after the limousine they were riding in was stopped and the driver ticketed for running a red light
Here is a couple absolutely determined to get something in return for their taxes dollars.

GM is said to be in talk with Google to have Onstar on Android phones.

General Motors is said to be in talks with Google to have its OnStar service on Google' Android phones so drivers could access the system information service even when they are not in their cars.
Why would anyone want to have their crappy GM cars talk to them and remind them all that is wrong with it even when they are not behind the wheel?

Study links processed meat to heart attack and diabetes.

In a study published Monday, researchers found that eating processed meat like bacon, hot-dog or salami, increased the risks of developing such diseases as heart attack or diabetes.
In the other hand, unprocessed meat, seemed more safe.
So next time you are at the drive-through and are asked "do you want fries to go with that?"
Ask them first if they keep a defibrillator in hand.

FCC is looking to force carriers to warn users about high usage.

In an effort to cut on so called "bill shock" or surprise high cellphones bills, the FCC is looking into imposing a measure that would force wireless carriers to send a warning to their users when they are about to reach their plan limits.
Otherwise, for people who can't shut-up, they need a friendly reminder to do so.

Former President George W. Bush is said to be writing his memoir about his presidency and it is called "Decisions Points." The book due out November 9 is said to focus on the 14 most important decisions of his presidency.

A last minute $900, 000 contribution from Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner has allowed to close the gap in a $12.5 million fund-raising drive to buy the land behind the famous Hollywood sign to keep it from being transformed into a residential area.
Where else could that happens than in Hollyweird? At the same time when the state and local government are struggling there to pay teachers and public workers, the weird set went to great length to make sure that their sign is safe

Brazilian health minister orders more sex.

Addressing the nation high blood pressure problem, Brazilian Health minister has one simple solution: more sex. Clarifying his remark, he said that adults should exercise more to keep their blood pressure down and he went on to say that a good cardiovascular workout includes sex.
Why is it that the U.S. do not have health minister like that?

House lawmakers join their senate counterparts and forgo their annual raise.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a bill blocking lawmakers from getting their scheduled $1,600 raise next year, following a similar measure passed by the Senate.
Explaning their decision, lawmakers said they try to show that they understand voters angst in the middle of a recession.
So as it stands, lawmakers would have to be more creative to live off their $174, 000 a year salary.

Police in New Haven Connecticut was arrested and charged for calling 911 six times trying to get a ride home from a night club.
Here my question: " How ugly do you have to be to be at a night club and have to call 911 six times for a ride homes?"

Take your kid to work day is loosing favors with schools across the country.

Last month, take your kids to work day was observed but schools administrators across the country appeared to have had it with the nearly two decade tradition and some of them are threatening to consider absent any kid not attending school on that day in the future.
One of the main reason given by school administrators is the kids' poor performance in schools already and the need to raise the stakes in standardized tests.
But I am suspicious that the main reason why schools administrators are rebelling against the practice is that they know that most parents don't even have a job.
