Advertisings coming to your cellphone.

A growing number of companies are using cellphone text messages to send ad messages to users who sign up to receive them. An active player in that field, 4INFO, just signed an agreement with Yahoo to provide it with the technology to publish its content on cellphones alongside a small ad.

Jurors in R. Kelly trial warned.

A prosecutor in the R. Kelly child pornography case warned jurors yesterday that they would be required to watch videotape of an "under-age child performing sex acts that you have never seen before."

Home Foreclosures create headheaches for School Districts.

The rise in home foreclosures is creating a new set of problems for school districts across the country:parents faking their addresses so to keep their kids at their current schools. But school districts are fighting back by hiring private investigators and creating anonymous tip lines to report fakers with the ultimate goal to expel their kids.
I am wondering ; are those kids called subprime kids?

Cable and satelite TV rank last.

According to the University of Michigan annual survey of consumer satisfaction per industry, cable and satellite providers ranked second to last despite registering their highest scores since 2001.
That will give cable thieves a valid argument to call for a decriminalisation of their trade.

Chicago sues eBay & StubHub.

The City of Chicago is suing eBay and it's online-ticket unit StubHub, for not collecting amusement taxes on concert and event tickets bought on the sites. The City claims that eBay has a physical presence in the city which makes it subject to the city taxes ordinance . eBay said it doesn't think Chicago's amusement tax applies to its or StubHub businesses and plans to fight the suit.
It goes without saying that the City of Chicago is not amused.

Christian Dior mobile phones are coming.

This Wednesday, French luxury brand Christian Dior will start a line of mobile phones mainly targeting brand-hungry consumers in new markets like China and Russia. The new Dior phones with a starting price of about $5,000 are following a recent trend started by other luxury brands to expand their empire beyond traditional fashion.
What is next ? Some Christian Dior toilet seats ? Or some Prada condoms ?

Yahoo infighting intensifies.

Billionaire and activist investor Carl Icahn's week old plan to unseat Yahoo 10 board members and replace them with new directors of his choosing, is picking up steam. So far, he has assembled a half dozen-men team made of billionaires and other prominent figures with the goal to force a shareholder vote on July 3.
So to all you tired of the Democratic primaries, after the last ones on June 3rd, Yahoo primaries will kick-in; so stay tuned.

Microsoft is pursuing Yahoo again.

Two weeks after abandoning its unsolicited bid t o buy Yahoo for more than $50 billion, Microsoft is said to have resumed its effort to hook up with the Internet search company. This time, the software giant is less ambitious up front. It is proposing some sort of partnership that will allow it to run advertisements alongside search results on Yahoo. But, Microsoft has left the doors open to the possibility of making a new bid for the entire company.
This sounds much like a familiar story: gays and lesbians fighting for the right to marry, but will settle for a civil union.

Starbucks puts the brakes on new stores.

Starbucks announced last week it's plans to slow down the pace of new stores openings in the U.S for the next three years .The revised plans follows decline in the number of visiting customers . According to the company, the traffic decrease has led to weaker sales and a net income drop of 28% during the fiscal second quarter that ended March 30.
Finally, American people have started to wake up and smell their neighbors homemade coffee instead of driving to Starbucks and be fleeced.

GM Loses $3.25 billion in first quarter.

With it's struggles in the North American auto market and troubles in the credit crisis through it's financial arm GMAC Financial, GM reported a first quarter net loss of $3.25 billion.
It is said that the latest numbers reveal problems that proved to be more serious than previously thought. Yeah ! Like , people don't want to drive GM made cars.

Rockfellers rebell against Exxon

64 descendents of John D. Rockefeller Exxon founder, are reportedly unhappy with the oil giant and are urging for changes in the management structure and the direction of the company.
One of their requests is for the company to split the roles of chief executive and chairman.
With today's sky high gas prices and record profits for the oil giants , chances are the general public will have little sympathy for the family fight.
Who cares if another fat chief thief is put in place to watch the other fat chief thief ?
