Violent crime is down sharply in the U.S. from last year.
According to federal statistics, violent crime fell significantly last year in cities across the U.S. despite the recession.
Or if you are a cynical, you will said that because of the recession, criminals have recognized that potential victims are no better off and that maybe only their dignity is keeping them from becoming criminals themselves.
