McCain intensifying attacks on Obama.
Over the weekend, john McCain's campaign has made no secret that they are going to intensify the personal attacks against Barack Obama with less than a month till the elections. Speaking to the Press this weekend, a senior Republican operative said: "there's no question that we have to change the subject here."
The subject in question here being the economy and how to fix it.
That should help draw a contrast between the Bush administration and a potential McCain's. If faced with issues he does not like, he will just change the subject.

Sarah Pailin comes up short .
Watch CBS Videos Online
In an interview with Sarah Pailin the Republican VP candidate, Catie Couric asked her to cite an example of John McCain pushing for more federal regulations to prevent crisis like the one on Wall Street right now. She cited one, and when reminded to come up with another one given the fact that McCain has been a senator for 26 years, she could not. But to her credit, she promised Catie Couric that she will look for more and when she finds any, she will bring it to her.
Like a rookie who skipped training camp, it seems like she is not given yet all the plays in the playbook.

McCain throws a bombshell, suspends campaign.
Early this afternoon, senator John McCain threw a bombshell by announcing that he was suspending his campaign and headed to Washington so he can participate in the negotiations in Congress to pass the economic rescue bill.
Just like any old respectable old quarterback, McCain now throws a hail marry pass every day.

Hugo Chavez creates new insult for his opponents.
What is the best use for Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez's time ? To come up with a new insult to describe his opponents. He lately devised the term "pitiyanquis" to mock everyone standing on his way, from political opponents, members of the elite class to businessmen from neighboring countries. And according to Spanish-language dictionaries, "pitiyanqui" is a mix of the French word "petit" or little with "yanqui" or someone who imitates Americans.
Waisting no time, today Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama started calling his opponent John McMcain, "pitiBush".

Republicans close Convention.
After three days of stones throwing and tongue lashing at the media, the Democrats, communities organizers and Obama, the Republican National Convention finally came to a close yesterday with high expectations.
But to watch and listen to all the political analysts fanning over the McCain's VP pick, it seems like the post convention bounce went to Sarah Pailin.

Daddy Yankee endorses McCain.
Porto Rico native and reggaeton star Daddy Yankee has endorsed Senator John McCain early this week during an event at a High School in Phoenix Arizona.
It is said that McCain was mostly impressed by Daddy Yankee smash hit from a few years ago, "Gasolina".
He took the song title literally and thinks that it fits nicely with his call for more drilling. Little that he knows, the song refers to another kind of drilling.
Has he really understood the true meaning of the song, I think McCain would have sought the endorsement of Grandaddy Yankee instead.
