Lipstick fight on the campaign trail.
The campaign of both presidential candidates spent most of the day Wednesday going back and forth at each other over a remark Senator Obama made the day before when he compared McCain plan for change, to "putting lipstick on a pig."The McCain camp immediately seized on the occasion, accusing Obama of calling the Republican VP pick, a pig and demanded an apology.
In a conference with reporters later during the day, Senator Obama called the Republican tactic a " phony outrage" and expressed his own outrage.
And today Rosie O'Donnell released a statement asking both campaigns to keep her out of it.
