Fines for late funerals
A village in South Africa has created a new fine of about $10 for people holding a funeral after 9 AM. The main reason given in imposing such an unusual measure is to save people time by allowing them to be able to go about their business by 9 AM after attending a funeral.
"The aim is to save time. After the funeral, people must still be able to go shopping or farm their fields" said the village spokesperson.
In other words, the dead must no hold up the livings.
