Second case of shark's virgin birth.
In a study released Friday in the Journal of Fish Biology, scientists confirmed that a pup found in the belly of a deceased blacktip shark in the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, contained no genetic material from a male shark. This would be the second case of such birth after a first one involving a pup born to a hammerhead shark at an Omaha Nebraska zoo.
