Condoleeza Rice meets with Libyan leader Quaddafi.
This past Friday, Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice met with Libyan leader Colonel Muhammar el-Quaddafi in Tripoli twenty two years after he escaped the U.S. bombing of his residence. Too many, the visit was a surprise, but to the Bush administration, the Libyan leader has been rehabilitated.
So, can we now call the man whom Ronald Reagan famously refereed to as the "mad dog of the Middle East," the "tame camel of the desert?"
